Job Description : Advance your education and gain hands-on experience assisting with the implementation of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for a non-profit organization that is dedicated to sustainable salmon fisheries.
This position will require rotations at remote, off-grid, and semi-remote salmon hatchery locations. Lodging will be provided in a bunkhouse setting. This position may also require rotations at the Cordova and Anchorage offices. Lodging will be provided in a hotel setting if needed.

Base Location: Cordova, AK
Customary Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday occasional weekend work
Supervisor’s Title: Chief Maintenance Manager
Basic Function: The incumbent will inventory physical items and enter data through prescribed methods at all PWSAC sites. Identification marks used will include but not be limited to VIN, HIN, serial and make/model numbers and physical descriptions. Receives direct supervision and specific instruction.
Primary Responsibilities: This position is responsible for identifying and cataloging all maintenance department items and supplies at each PWSAC site. Work is conducted mainly in remote settings with dorm-style lodging.
Description of essential duties and responsibilities:
Physically identify all equipment, tools, facility systems, components and supplies, machines, generators, and appliances.Catalog items using Company software, completing all required fieldsTake and label pictures of identified items using prescribed checklistsEnter data into Company provided computer software systemsSave and organize files and data in Company provided digital librariesWork with maintenance staff, site managers, and other PWSAC employees for purposes of inventory location and item identificationComplete progress reportsOther duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, and other structuresKnowledge of maintenance department equipment, generators, and general system components for purpose of efficient identificationBasic knowledge of Hazmat material handlingKnowledge of computer software, particularly Microsoft Office suiteSkilled in data entry and managementAbility to work with a high degree of integrity, dependability, initiative, and attention to detailAbility to arrange things in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations)Ability to understand and communicate verbally and in writing
Essential Functions: Work performed both in an office and construction site setting, may be exposed to inclement and cold seasonal weather and hostile wildlife. Must be able to move about freely; ability to lift and carry 50 pounds; ability to climb ladders, board and be transported in small planes and boats and access tight spaces without assistance to locate items; use telephones and computers unimpaired. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Must be able to hear and see to identify item identifying marks and to receive verbal and written instructions. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild, however may be occasionally high depending on the project. Must be able to complete work on computers and electronic devices

Prince William Sound Aquaculture Corporation (PWSAC) is a private, non-profit hatchery association founded in 1974 by a local commercial fishermen’s organization to optimize Alaska’s wild salmon resources. PWSAC produces hatchery-born, ocean-raised wild salmon for the commercial, sport, personal use, and subsistence fisheries in the Prince William Sound and Copper River regions.
Maintenance Support is a temporary position that will spend rotations at all five salmon hatcheries in addition to the Cordova and Anchorage office locations. PWSAC is looking for an enthusiastic individual that wants to adventure Alaska and help unite PWSAC’s mission of sustainable fisheries contributing to the culture and economy of the region.
