Job Description : Request for Qualifications: Freelance Graphic and Motion Designer to work with outer-space-focused nonprofitDescription: Secure World Foundation is looking for a Graphic and Motion Designer to help produce institutional graphics and videos for publication and social media. The Designer should be able to produce clean, modern, professional graphics that communicate complex subject matter in a clear, understandable manner, reflect our pride in our work and still fit within our nonprofit budget. The Designer should be able to produce:Document layouts and templates, from 4-page fact sheets to 50-page booklets to 250-page reports with 800 footnotes, for digital distribution and printingPowerPoint templateWeb pages and social media images and bannersVideosWe are looking for designers who:specialize in storytelling and user experience designcan work out loud and are adept at remote collaborationknow their own work well and can give good estimates of workflow timelines and can then meet the deadlineshave strong business acumen – while we are looking for someone who can collaborate with our team and follow instructions, we are also looking for someone who can help inform our own ideas to better communicate our messaging.Previous experience working with NGOs and other non-profit organizations with an international audience is preferred; experience working with “outer space” as a subject is welcome.Pay: $65.00 – $95.00 per hourLocation: RemoteJob-type: Contract, workflow will vary, with a possible 5 – 20 hrs of work per week.Qualifications:Degree in graphic arts, design, communications, or related field5-7 years of experience in graphic designKnowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the webKnowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office SuiteStrong communications and analytical skillsExcellent eye for detailTo apply, please submit a cover letter, resume and a sample portfolio of your work.
