DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Keystone State Challenge Academy (KSCA) RA&RA’s conduct direct outreach and recruiting activities and admissions counseling for prospective applicants in order to ensure the KSCA admits the required number of qualified cadets per class. Assigned regional responsibility across the commonwealth (R&A Region North, R&A Region South, or R&A Region West), each RA&RA is responsible for the outreach, admissions, and recruiting efforts of potential cadets within their assigned region. This position is headquartered at the KSCA but regularly travels as required to their assigned region to conduct business. The RA&RA also recruits, screens, and recommends cadet mentors in collaboration with the KSCA’s Volunteer Mentor Recruitment Plan.

The KSCA is one of the newest National Guard Bureau Youth ChalleNGe academies being established, providing a voluntary, residential, military-like, alternative education option for Pennsylvania’s youth ages 16-18 seeking a high school diploma or equivalency.

Telework-eligible (part-time):
You will have the opportunity to work from home (telework) up to 5 days a pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Annville.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as an Administrative Officer 1; Or

Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and a bachelor’s degree; Or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
PA Drivers’ license
Note: All employees of the KSCA will be required to have background checks equivalent to anyone working in a school that may have direct contact with students.

Pennsylvania School Law requires that all applicants for employment in public and private schools, employees of independent contractors seeking business with public and private schools, and student teacher candidates undergo background checks if they will have direct contact with students. In addition, employment history reviews must be completed for all applicants seeking employment.
