Job Description : Payroll Specialist (Sumner, WA) Potelco is a wholly owned subsidiary of Quanta Services, Inc, a Fortune 300 company. Although founded 55 years ago, we have experienced growth year after year to this day. We currently employ approximately 1,200 employees in multiple states. Candidate must be capable of analyzing large volumes of data and have advanced problem-solving abilities to detect errors and ensure strict deadlines are met. They must have knowledge of union contracts and state and federal wage and hour laws. Candidate must thrive in a team environment, working alongside other highly talented and goal-oriented team members while maintaining a positive attitude. They should have the ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment with a flexible attitude, embracing opportunities for growth.ResponsibilitiesUpload or key payroll hours, balance, check for accuracy and compliance with various union agreements.Meet strict weekly deadlines by coordinating with payroll team and field offices.Weekly State and Federal Certified Payrolls and Davis Bacon reportingVarious admin duties to include: Employment Verifications, I-9 tracking and validation in E-Verify, maintaining and updating employee personnel files.Required SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Applications – Excel skills Intermediate or above.Knowledge of Union contracts to include overtime rules, deductions & benefits.Customer service experience dealing with a high volume of field personnel.Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.Reliable and dependable, willing to work beyond normal hours when necessaryKnowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws.Preferred Experience & EducationAA in accounting or 3 years in an accounting role.Job cost-based payroll & accounting software experience.Experience with Oracle/JDE accounting softwareWhat we offerCompetitive Wage DOE401k with Employer matchPerformance based annual COLA and Bonus potentialEmployee & dependents 100% of premium covered medical, dental and visionJob Type: Full-timePay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insurancePhysical Setting:OfficeSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridaySupplemental Pay:Bonus payAbility to commute/relocate:Sumner, WA 98390: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)Experience:Accounting: 3 years (Preferred)Work Location: One location
