Job Description : We are located in the lobby of the Union Capitol building near the state Capitol. We proudly partner with Dancing Goats coffee to provide the highest quality espresso and coffee drinks.We are looking for a Barista to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea. Barista responsibilities include educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of how brewing equipment operates.SkillsPrevious work experience as a BaristaAbility to multi-taskHands-on experience with brewing equipmentAbility to gauge customers’ preferencesExcellent communication skillsResponsibilitiesGreet customers as they enterGive customers drink menus and answer their questions regarding ingredientsTake orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)Prepare beverages following recipesServe beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries and muffinsReceive and process payments (cash and credit cards)Keep the bar area cleanCheck if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needsComply with health and safety regulationsCommunicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu itemsJob Type: Part-timePay: $14.49 – $24.50 per hourPhysical Setting:Coffee shopSchedule:Day shiftMonday to FridaySupplemental Pay:TipsExperience:Barista: 1 year (Required)Work Location: One location
