Role Mission:
The Manager of Athletics will oversee the development of a multi-year comprehensive portfolio of athletics offerings for K-8 students across each of VCP’s 5 campuses. In this role, you will partner with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to create, expand, and enhance VCP’s athletics offerings as part of VCP’s commitment to equity, inclusivity, and excellence for our community. This role reports to the Director of Programs.
Your Impact:
In consultation with the Director of Programs, set a programmatic vision of inclusivity and excellence for athletics programming at VCP and coordinate with campus, Curriculum & Instruction, and Operations team members, along with all relevant stakeholders to create and manage programs and systems aligned with that vision
Cultivate internal (PE teachers, teacher coaches, students and families) and external relationships (prospective coaches, program/league managers) to VCP to develop investment and participation in a varied portfolio of athletics offerings for in- and after-school programming
Promote a culture throughout the VCP community that appreciates a variety of learning and athletics experiences and sees them as critical to the well-being of our scholars, the satisfaction of our families, and the overall strength of VCP’s educational model
Oversee the application of school-wide systems and core values in the athletics setting, and support all program staff and contractors in doing so
Partner with team members to support the planning of special events as assigned
Support purchasing and ordering for all enrichment programs and special events
Communicate effectively and proactively with students, families, and colleagues
Collect and analyze program evaluation data (participation rates, satisfaction, cost effectiveness, etc.) and adjust programming as determined appropriate in consultation with the Director of Programs
Work to continuously improve the quality of VCP’s athletics programs
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
Your Qualifications:
Passionate commitment to the mission of Vista College Prep and the vital importance of athletics opportunities for all K-8 students;
Track record of producing consistently strong results;
Ability to approach situations with optimism and perseverance;
Ability to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Excellent organizational skills;
Valid IVP fingerprint clearance card.
