Job Description : Job Title: Human Resources SpecialistJob Classification: Part TimeFLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: VP of HRJob Summary Works closely with the VP of HR for delivering recruiting and retention success throughout the organization. This position will develop relationships with employees, applicants, community partners, to assess open needs, successful placements, and oversees the completion of onboarding and retention requirements. The HR Specialist will create and champion an apprenticeship and training program. Required Education, Skills and ExperienceFour-year degree in Human Resources preferred but equivalent work experience and education may be considered.Minimum five (5) years of HR experience.Self-motivated and self-directed.900 Washington St. Suite 700, Vancouver, Washington, 98660Team-oriented.Possesses excellent verbal and written skills.Must have social media acuity and superb technical skills.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelops and executes recruitment strategies to attract, screen, and hire quality employees who meet UGC’s needs. Matches and evaluates candidate skills through assisting with screening and in- person and phone interviews with candidates.Conducts new hire orientation, onboarding, and follow up.Creates and organizes trainings on various leadership and mandatory topics.Assists with benefits administration and responds to inquiries regarding benefits, policies, procedures, and programs.Administers federal and state employment practices such as FMLA/OFLA/ADA/ADEA.Champions proposed apprenticeship program. Along with VP of HR, will develop program, align withUniversities/Agencies to onboard, and follows through with training/evaluation of candidates and program.Completes the Affirmative Action Plan requirements.Conducts exit interviews on terminating employees.Conducts employee surveys.Serves as back-up to Payroll.Participates in a variety of special projects and other duties as assigned.Physical Demands and RequirementsMust be computer literate with proven ability in the use of spreadsheets, database, and word processing software applications within a Windows-based operating environment.Proven and effective interpersonal skills; must support a team-oriented approach for the Company.Demonstrated knowledge and ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions, including being detail oriented.Demonstrated ability to work and excel in a fast-paced and stressful environment.Expressing or exchanging ideas in English by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to customers, public, and convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.Remain in a seated position for 8-hours per day. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
