Job Description : Job descriptionBusy multi-physician Urology private practice located in downtown Houston is seeking a full-time bilingual surgery scheduler. Must have medical experience, organized, and excellent communication skills.Position Summary: Schedule surgeries and coordinate procedures for multiple doctors.Determines surgery time needed for the procedure and communicates with surgery center to ensure procedure is scheduled, orders are sent, surgery staff scheduled, and ensures all clearances, labs, and necessary tests have been obtained prior to date of surgery.Explains to patient instructions for surgery (pre-op and post-op procedures) by going over all surgery packets with each patient.Reschedules surgeries and communicates any deficiencies of the surgery schedule to the Practice Manager.Verifies insurance benefits for surgery and explains to patients (co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance) and obtaining authorization based on insurance carrier as well as providing financial alternatives for surgery.Collects payments for physician fees.Provide patients with the highest quality of patient care whether by phone or in person.Answers all phone calls relating to all surgeries past or present.QualificationsHigh School or equivalent (Preferred)Medical terminology : 2 yr (Preferred)Surgery Scheduling experience: 2 yr (Preferred)Spanish Speaking (Preferred)Computer Skills: proficient in word, excel, outlook (Preferred)Benefits: Health insuranceRetirement planPaid time offHoliday paySchedule: Monday to Friday8 hour shiftJob Type: Full-timePay: $17.00 – $20.00 per hourJob Type: Full-timePay: $17.00 – $20.00 per hourBenefits:401(k) matchingHealth insurancePaid time offUniform allowanceSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Customer service: 2 years (Preferred)Medical terminology: 2 years (Preferred)Computer skills: 2 years (Preferred)Work Location: One location
