Job Description : Senior Exploration Geophysicist – Conventional AssetsCSI Recruiting is working with an independent, privately owned and highly entrepreneurial upstream oil and gas company, a firm that has built global success through innovation, creativity, and diversity. For over twenty-five years, our client has engaged in exploration, investment, and development activities in North America and Internationally. Our client is seeking a true oil-finding prospect generating Geoscientist to join their company – A firm where exploration skills are valued and fostered.The ideal candidate will be a motivated and talented Geophysicist / Geoscientist to join the client’s small team of G&G exploration experts. The successful candidate will be a prospector, a tenacious problem solver and critical thinker with a drive to work both collaboratively and independently.As Senior Geophysicist/Geologist you will directly contribute to the client’s exploration geoscience team tasked with identifying prospects and adding possible oil and gas plays to their assets.Specific Responsibilities: · Interpret and map 3D and 2D seismic volumes on workstations and present recommendations for future exploration efforts and seismic data acquisition to the Exploration Team and to Management· Ability to tie in well control and incorporate geologic mapping and geologic ideas to seismic interpretation for a complete exploration project.· Ability to perform basic well log analysis and recommend more advanced evaluation where needed· Closely supervise seismic processing of projects by out-sourced vendors for best practices· Learn and apply the client’s proprietary workflows on AVO gather conditioning and elastic impedance inversion products.· Study and apply additional geophysical applications and workflows to improve drilling results.· Maintain high standards of quality control, technical advice and training in geophysical and geological interpretation techniques, work flows and best practices.Qualifications: · BS / MS in Geology or Geophysics.· Minimum seven years’ experience in hydrocarbon exploration with a focus on conventional assets within the U.S., preferably onshore.· Exploration experience in a variety of sedimentary basins and tectonic settings.· Proficiency in Kingdom, Geographix, Hampson-Russel or similar workstation software.· Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.· A team player willing to assist where needed with the ability to work personally, proactively and independently to achieve results and use thoughtful judgment.Job Type: Full-timePay: $190,000.00 – $250,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Health insurancePaid time offSchedule:8 hour shiftExperience:Exploration Geophysics: 5 years (Preferred)Conventional Asset: 5 years (Preferred)Exploration Geology: 5 years (Preferred)Work Location: One location
