Job Description : Job Description
The Utah Office of the State Treasurer is seeking a self-motivated individual with excellent communications skills to assist with the office’s communications strategies and financial education programs. Duties will include project management, communications support, event planning and execution, and other duties as assigned.
Principle Duties:
Work closely with the Policy and Communications Deputy to administer, evaluate, and improve the office’s financial education programs, including the Stock Market Game for students grades 4-12, an annual women’s financial empowerment conference, and other initiatives.
Day-to-day administration of the Stock Market Game.
Create content for financial education programs, including educational materials, website content, flyers, news releases, and social media campaigns.
Provide training and support to teachers for the Stock Market Game, including conference presentations and exhibits, online trainings, and phone and email support.
Plan and execute events, including operational planning and management, marketing, clerical support, and day-of- event logistics.
Evaluate financial literacy programs and initiatives.
Collaborate with partners to improve financial literacy in Utah and support the initiatives of the Utah Council on Financial and Economic Education.
Assist the Policy and Communications Deputy with implementing communications strategies and campaigns.
Draft media advisories, news releases, and talking points.
Create social media content.
Assist in creation of print and digital materials including reports, brochures, presentations, videos, and hand-outs.
Assist in maintaining web content.
Photography and videography support.
Miscellaneous other functions and duties, including but not limited to administrative and clerical support, program management and evaluation, and data entry.
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who:

Is proficient with computers and software applications including online platforms and apps, email, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Google applications, and learning management systems.
Has a Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field.

Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
