Job Description : Forklift Operator/Dock Worker We currently have full-time Dock Worker/Forklift Operator positions at our Jersey City Service Center with a starting hourly rate of $19.00 and a pay progression scale.Responsibilities include manual loading and unloading of freight with the use of a pallet jack, hand truck or forklift, adhering to all dock safety regulations regarding the movement of freight with designated equipment. Furthermore, the dock worker is to follow all standard operating procedures regarding the completion of dock paperwork and dock cleanliness.Responsibilities: Pre-tripping forkliftsPre-loading and posting unloading trailer inspectionsSafely unloading freight from trailers either using a forklift or manuallySafely loading freight into trailers either using a forklift or manuallyEnsuring that freight moved matches all aspects of the associated movement bill or cross dockComplying with all aspects of dock paperwork procedures while moving freightEnsuring that the dock and associated areas are kept cleanMaintaining a clean and orderly work area and safe environmentQualifications/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.Minimum of one year prior experience required.Prior hostling experience highly desirable.Must be able to drive a forklift.Forklift certified preferred.Must be able to read, write and speak English.We offer a very competitive base salary and benefits package, including medical, annuity, and paid time offAvesta Management Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer”Work RemotelyNoJob Type: Full-timePay: $22.00 per hourBenefits:Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offRetirement planSchedule:10 hour shift8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayNight shiftWeekend availabilityCOVID-19 considerations:To keep our employees safe we have temperature checks for everyone entering the facility and have installed hand sanitizer stations and provided masks.Experience:Forklift: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
