We are currently hiring for a Patient Care Coordinator/Appointment Scheduler for our organization, located in our Corporate Office in Marlton. This is currently a remote position, but must be local to Marlton, NJ.

The Patient Care Coordinator/Appointment Scheduler provides timely services to patients wishing to schedule appointments or needing assistance with their care; works closely with clinical staff in coordinating and scheduling appointments and obtaining authorizations; is responsible for verifying and obtaining authorizations as required by insurance companies dependent upon the plan coverage for patients, and assists with logistical and/or clerical problem resolution related to the patient’s appointments, medical care and authorizations. This is a call center position, with the opportunity to work remotely, however, must be local to our Corporate office in Marlton.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Working in call center – Assists clients by determining needs, scheduling or canceling appointments, or referring to correct staff person.
Provides professional customer service by obtaining and verifying necessary demographic and insurance information.
Maintains and updates current information on physician schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly.
Assists patients with questions or concerns regarding their authorizations.
Keeps management informed of changes in authorization process, insurance policies, billing requirements, rejection or denial codes as they pertain to claim processing and coding.
Works effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
Works independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and management.
Informs management of any billing or authorization concerns, backlogs, insurance issues, problem accounts and time available for additional tasks.
Maintains strictest confidentiality; adhering to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
Completes additional projects and duties as assigned by manager.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Must be organized and detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks.
Knowledge of standard office procedures, computers, and equipment
Good verbal and written communications skills with the team, department and patients.
Demonstrates overall knowledge of claims and authorization processing for insurance companies including private, commercial, government carriers, and managed care plans.
Bilingual candidates highly desired.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of one-year work experience in customer service.
Experience working with Navinet & Pcare and Eclinical Works a plus.
One year experience working in a multi-specialty group practice or healthcare system preferred.
One year experience in insurance authorizations and medical terminology desirable.
Bilingual a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work may be stressful at times due to a busy office.Low to moderate overtime required throughout the year.Prolonged periods of sitting.Manual and finger dexterity is required and vision corrected to a normal range.
