Role Summary
This role oversees the execution of timely and consistent programs, policy, personnel administration, and financial operations for the station at Alaska Airlines Air Cargo (AS). As a people leader, the Supervisor Administration – Cargo leads and establishes priorities for Customer Service Agent (CSA) and Ramp Service Agent (RSA) employees, assisting with customer relations to ensure cargo operation standards are maintained or exceeded.
Key Duties
Supervise the execution of activities of all cargo agents (e.g., Customer Service Agents and Ramp Service Agents) in scheduling, training, attendance, discipline, contract administration, and performance.
Develop agents through effective performance management and ongoing feedback focusing on delegation, coaching, growing and developing the team for capacity and growth, managing performance of individuals in executing tasks, and time management.
Budget support:
Responsible for monitoring and reporting the station financial performance against the budget, execute monthly station accruals, trending variances and identification of changes to the business which could impact the station’s ability to meet cost targets.
Program and policy administration:
Administer station attendance policy and coach agents on adherence to station expectations.
Oversee employee recognition program and coordination of events.
Station personnel administration, including:
Administer payroll and timekeeping tasks (e.g., new hire and termination processing, promotions, and job title changes, leaves and time off, onboarding, payroll data entry, visitor badges, employee communication, etc.).
Responsible for handling station’s Medical Relations and Worker’s Compensation duties, including supporting employee leaves, tracking data in relation to job injuries, and assisting leadership with Injury Reduction Programs.
Process local Airport Badging including Customs reporting, administration of A43 processing, and administration of employee parking pass program.
Responsible for monitoring the station supply inventory, including ordering and stocking.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
A minimum of 3 years of operations experience.
Bachelor’s degree, or an additional 2 years of training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Ability to lead, motivate, and successfully communicate with a diverse workgroup and with other internal departments and teams.
Proven ability to effectively and tactfully communicate with others.
Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule (e.g., weekends, holidays, and non-standard shifts).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Depending upon your work location, you may be required to obtain USPS Mail Handling Certification.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
Airline operations or cargo experience.
Knowledge of SABRE/CargoSpot and company policy.
Experience coaching and counseling employees on performance related issues.
Experience as a supervisor, acting supervisor or lead.
Experience scheduling shift work and administering budget controls.
