Job Description : Career Services is seeking an organized and driven customer service professional to manage Handshake, UA’s online career management platform for students and alumni. This position provides high-quality customer service and on-boarding support to employers seeking to post positions, connect with and hire UA students and alumni using Handshake. This is a grant-funded term position serving career services statewide and is supervised by the UAA Career Services Director. Remote work options are available.
Duties:
10Support existing career development programs and events as needed.Essential
20Provide essential and timely information and support to career services teams with relevant data analysis and trend reporting. Meet regularly with UAA, UAF and UAS Career Services representatives in an effort to continuously improve the process of connecting UA students and alumni with career opportunities. Listen to the needs of the individual campuses and make adjustments to the process as needed. Provide regular reports and metrics on employer accounts, development and efforts to outreach to stakeholders. Work with Career Services staff to expand employer participation and facilitate aspects of employment development.Essential
30Provide high quality technical assistance in both verbal and written form to new and existing employers as they learn how to maximize the UA Handshake portal. Communicate complex and technical information to clients with diverse abilities and experiences using technology in a clear, concise and easy to understand way. Deliver outstanding, highly empathetic, and responsive support to UA students, alumni, and employer partners.Essential
40Oversight of Handshake, the UA career management system: Process new users, and onboard employer contacts, to include determining eligibility, tracking progress, and approving or declining accounts. Analyze eligibility criteria during the employer onboarding process (vetting) and take appropriate action as it relates to account requests and policy alignment. Work to continually improve and streamline processes to maximize system use and expand opportunities for stakeholders. Evaluate and approve employment opportunities in the system in a timely manner. Ensure data is accurate by regularly checking for errors and omissions. Provide regular customer support to employers, alumni and students accessing the Handshake platform.Essential

The ability to translate complex or technical information to Career Services members and other end users in a clear, concise, and easy to understand way.
Proficiency with computers, databases, spreadsheets and common application tools like MS Office, Google Suite, and Zoom.
Preferred experience with Handshake, comparable career management system or other proprietary software.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in a professional and courteous manner to a diverse clientele.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in an ethical manner.
Strong desire to learn new things, embrace the notion of continuous improvement, and contribute to a team.Ability to present complex or technical information in an understandable manner.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
Associate Degree and/or equivalent combination of training and experience is required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
Customer service experience is required
Experience using technology in a professional or office setting

This is a full-time, term-funded, Grade 77, minimum $21.81 hourly, DOE, 12-month position complete with a competitive salary and UA employee benefits package.

Term Position:
This position is a term-funded position and is reviewed annually for contract renewal at the University’s discretion.
