Position Summary:
The Benefits Analyst, Project Employee supports the administration of NBA player benefits and coaches/GMs benefits in accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreements, plan design and ERISA; includes vendor management compliance, customer service, issue resolution and communications.
This is a 10 month project employee position based out of the NBA’s Secaucus, New Jersey office
Major Responsibilities:
Partnering with internal stakeholders, outside counsel and third-party vendors to ensure plans run smoothly
Operate as the primary point of contact for coaches and team executives to raise understanding of how specific benefits are administered
Initiating and completing retirement packages for participants
Manage inbound/outbound calls to/from the various Hotlines established for NBA/WNBA Players & Coaches
Administering processes such as death, change of address, direct deposit, etc.
Assisting with annual plan audits/filings
Backing up the Team Benefits Leader when needed and assist with annual enrollments, renewals and communications confirming invoices (review, confirm, and question invoices that are received from any of the NBA’s 3rd Party Administrators to validate for reasonableness of the charges)
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Strong MS Office skills
Analytical; creative, effective problem-solving abilities
Self-starter Creative-thinker Detail-oriented Customer Service
Education:
Bachelors degree preferred
Benefits or HR certification a plus
