Job Description : JOB SUMMARY: The Project Manager position is responsible for supporting the operations of projects in accordance with industry standards and regulatory agencies. This position will work as a technical lead and support for various federal projects and clients with an emphasis on project planning, implementation, and closeout. They are responsible for supporting the operations of projects in accordance with industry standards and regulatory agencies, and will utilize their knowledge to participate in collecting, synthesizing and documenting data from investigated areas and assisting in the preparation of project documentation, in addition to providing field support as needed to kick off a project or mentor junior staff.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Work with the project team to plan and execute the project as defined by the contract. Includes organizing and authoring planning and after-action documents, addressing client and regulator comments; assisting in the organization of field work including logistics, equipment planning, and field team schedule/rotations; data management and working with the team to ensure contract deliverables are met or data gaps are identified and documented; and creating lessons learned, as needed, to evaluate the project execution.Prepare technical evaluations of investigated sites using RCRA guidelines.Adhere to schedule and financial objectives, controlling time and expenditures to achieve project goals.Work with environmental technicians and other technical staff to support data collection, site investigation, and evaluation of data collected in support of environmental restoration objectives.Provide scientific and technical guidance, support, coordination, and oversight to project staff preparing written project documentation.Review and document the processes necessary to obtain environmental permits, licenses, and other requirements necessary to achieve environmental restoration project objectives.Review and provide documentation of environmental technical standards, guidelines, policies, and formal regulations to ensure proposals meet all appropriate requirements.Determine data collection methods to be employed in site surveys and investigations.Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.Perform other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS: Supervises the work of Environmental Scientists and occasionally field personnel.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules governing environmental projects and programs.Skill in using personal initiative and critical thinking to complete job duties with minimal guidance.Ability to set priorities, take ownership of projects, work efficiently and provide a consistent level of high quality in a high-pressure environment.Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.Ability to use scientific rules and methods to solve problems and logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.Ability to work in a team environmentAbility to work in a constant state of alertness and is a safe manner.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering Discipline required, Master’s Degree preferredMinimum of five years of experience conducting environmental investigations with the demonstrated ability to plan and conduct environmental assessments of sites where hazardous and/or toxic waste may have been released from past operations.Must meet ADEC’s definition of a Qualified Professional.40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations certificate preferred.Hazardous Waste Operation and Emergency Response training with current 8 hour refresher preferred.Familiar with 18 AAC 75 (ADEC Oil and Hazardous Substances and Pollution Control Regulations), 18 AAC 78 (ADEC UST Regulations) and the ADEC Field Sampling Guidance Manual.Experience in federal government projects highly desired.A broad understanding of federal, state and local environmental regulations.Experience with Health and Safety functions a plus.Valid state driver’s license and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of Brice’s Driving Policy.Must pass employment drug and background check.WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is typically set in a business office setting with occasional visits to project sites.Occasional field assignments will be outdoors;
