Is it important for you to know that what you do makes a difference?If YES to all the above, please read further because we have an opportunity for YOU!SUMMARY: We are looking to employ a Communications Coordinator with exceptional outreach, community strategy development, research and writing skills. The Communications Coordinator is expected to be a strategic thinker with meticulous attention to detail, working well under pressure, and meeting deadlines.This position will be responsible for conducting outreach and connecting members of historically disadvantaged communities (e.g. BIPOC, homeless/impoverished, LGBTQIA+, Individuals with Disabilities, LatinX) to state and federal assistance programs.You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop a communication plan and implement it. To ensure success, the Communications Coordinator should be innovative, organized, and self-motivated with a keen interest in driving strategic messages to key internal and external role-players.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Social Work/Services, Public Relations, or a related field.A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in communications strategy development.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.High computer literacy with strong capabilities in email, MS Office, and related business and communication tools.Content writing experience for all media platforms for business.Proven social media and networking expertise.Military service may be substituted for experience.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct primary research and develop and implement a communication strategy that includes media outreach and social media content creation targeting historically disadvantaged communities.Write press releases and content for the company website, infographics, blogs, and newsletters.Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the company’s policies, principles, and strategies, and keep up to date with relevant developments.Build strategic partnerships for the organization through relationship building with partners, and local organization at local, state, and federal levels.Facilitate the resolution of disputes with external role-players.Refer customers to appropriate state programs.Track program/grant metrics and develop regular reports.Work with key internal role-players to brainstorm content ideas, in line with the company’s strategy and in support of various brand initiatives.Support and evaluate results of communication campaign with the team.Build and maintain relationships with journalists and key external role-players.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES/ATTRIBUTESUnderstanding of business functions such as budgets and branding.Demonstrated competency in strategic planning and business development.Working knowledge of data analysis and performance.Ability to develop excellent customer relationships as well as assess needs, meet standards for service, and evaluate customer satisfaction.Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.Aptitude in decision-making and problem solving.Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and partnerships.Strong facilitation and presentation skills.Ability to work with colleagues, board members, system partners, businesses, and other community organizations effectively in outcomes-based setting.Meticulous attention to detail.Bilingual/biliterate in Spanish/English (preferred).WORKING CONDITIONS: Properly licensed and insured automobile as well as a valid driver’s license required.The position may require some travel within Benton and Franklin Counties.TO BE CONSIDERED: A resume including professional social media links (YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) must be submitted to the attention of: Tiffany Scott, Benton-Franklin Workforce Development Council, CEO.
