Job Description : Summary
The Director, Apple Leisure Group Communications will be responsible for coordinating global Corporate and Brand Communication efforts across all business lines of Apple Leisure Group (ALG), ensuring strategic alignment and a consistent tone and voice with Hyatt as the parent brand while preserving individual brand voices.
The individual in this position will be a key member of Hyatt’s Global Communications team and trusted partner for the ALG leadership team, serving as a communications liaison and collaborating closely with key enterprise functions across Hyatt and ALG, incl. Commercial Services, Operations, Legal and HR.
This is a new role, based in Miami, FL, reporting into Hyatt’s SVP, Global Communications, with a dotted line into ALG’s Chief of Staff to the CEO. The individual in this role will have dotted-line oversight of five Communications committee members across ALG’s business units – AMR Collection, Unlimited Vacation Club, ALG Vacations and AmStar.
A passion for travel and fluent Spanish language skills are key to the success of this role.

Position Responsibilities
Assume leadership of ALG Communications committee with dotted-line oversight of five committee members who are reporting into ALG’s individual business lines
Create alignment and establish ways of working and governance among ALG business unit Communications as well as between Hyatt and ALG Communications, following defined processes & procedures for communicating as a public company, incl. review and alignment on press releases, statements, speaking opportunities, etc.
Develop ALG enterprise messaging in alignment with Hyatt messaging and basis for ALG communications efforts
Align strategic communications plans across ALG business lines targeting guests, customers, owners, and colleagues with Hyatt’s global communications strategy, including but not limited to:
CEO executive visibility platform
executive visibility, speaking opportunities for ALG leaders at industry/trade events
development/growth announcements
communications on brand campaigns, partnerships, and activations
media relations with business, trade and travel media, incl. interview opportunities
crisis and issues communications
owner communications
internal communications
Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt core values – respect, integrity, humility, empathy, creativity, and fun

Qualifications
Experience
12+ years of experience in corporate communications experience required; public company experience required; hospitality experience a strong plus.
Fluent Spanish skills required.
High degree of personal and professional savvy and experience to inspire confidence among audiences at all levels of the organization.
Media relations/spokesperson, agency/outside resource management experience.
High level of passion for communications, quality work, and team building.
Strong empathetic orientation and high level of personal commitment/caring. Unquestionable integrity.
Proven ability to produce a wide range of materials and content (press releases, social content, scripts, speeches, etc.). Strong writer and editor.
Conceptual, strategic, and creative thinker, capable of developing plans that deliver results.
Strong intellect, flexible and adaptable, stimulated by challenges, and open-minded with a strong desire to learn.
Strong business acumen.
Education
Bachelor of Arts or Sciences in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related degree
Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job
Proficient, solid working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite
