Job Description : PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES · Implement developmentally-appropriate curriculum and weekly lessons for ages 3-6 years in lessons and activities designed to promote social, physical, creative and intellectual growth.· Possess the ability to understand and perform within the organizational structure of culture-based education (CBE) and family engagement through knowledge of and implementation of Hawaiian culture and dual language opportunities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: · Organize, coordinate, and implement lesson plans and activities to present a variety of daily activities in the classroom.· Organize, format and present child progress for parent conferences.· Provide assistance and direction to the Director/Teacher for quality environments to meet designated children’s developmental needs.· Provide a safe and nurturing environment consistent with best practice in early childhood development through staff planning.· Ensure that child participation in evaluation assessment and screening.· Provide required attendance reports on a timely basis, and conduct conferences, observations, and other evaluation activities with all parent participants.· Model appropriate behaviors for parents and children.· Responsible for leaving all facilities clean and secured including oversight of daily sanitizing, supply checks and health and safety in the classroom.· Recruit for participants, as directed.· Engage families at parent orientation and continue to communicate children’s progress.· Alert Director to problems with staff and participants, including any suspected child abuse.· Alert supervisor and/or handles any safety issues or family-expressed concerns.· Perform other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS· Prefer BA/BS/MS Degree in early childhood or related field.· One to two (1-2) years experience at an established preschool, or similar child-related setting.· Knowledge of Hawaiian language strongly preferred.· Background in Hawaiian language and culture, and child development preferred.· Demonstrated coordination and leadership skills.· Demonstrated knowledge and sensitivity to the educational and other interests and needs of parents and children, particularly of Hawaiian descent.· Ability to lift equipment and items weighing 40 pounds or more.· Computer skills, positive oral and written skills, ability to do good recordkeeping.· Effective communication and interviewing skills.· Have one (1) or more years experience in work with the Hawaiian community and/or cultural programs.· Adhere to set staff schedule.· Willing to work as an enthusiastic, productive and collaborative team member.· In-home access to WIFI and Internet.Job Type: Full-timePay: $18.00 – $21.00 per hourBenefits:Dental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offRetirement planVision insuranceSchedule:Day shiftMonday to FridayCOVID-19 considerations:Masks are required; sanitizing done on ongoing daily basis.Education:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Experience:Early Childhood Education: 1 year (Preferred)Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)License/Certification:CPR Certification (Preferred)Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)Work Location:One locationWork Remotely:NoWork Location: One location
