Job Description:
Biotech company is looking for shipping clerk that will be handling the shipping, documentation on a computer, updating inventory of various lab items.This is a direct hire role which means you will receive full benefits right away, this is NOT a contract or temporary role. This company promotes from within and is opening a new warehouse next year down the street and this opportunity can easily put you in a good position to grow and oversee this new warehouse. Someone who is willing to learn, detail oriented, is accountable and a positive team player is the ideal candidate, the rest of the role could be taught and learned in time. Extensive training will be provided for this role.
Day in the life of shipping clerk in San Diego.
Half of the day you will be on a desk on computer doing administrative work documenting inventory and organizing shipments using NetSuite software (this can be taught).You will check emails, review tracking sheets, look at orders and paperwork etc. The rest of the day you will be pulling items to be packed into boxes to be shipped out. You will label boxes, count inventory and document all shipments going out. You will be pulling numerous different biotech items from freezers. This is an office/laboratory setting. Protective equipment may be worn during pulling of items (will be provided).
$25 per hour
Mon – Friday 8AM-4:30PM

Responsibilities shipping clerk job in San Diego
Responsible for shipping clerk job following established shipping practices (software and multiple vendors).
Performs shipping clerk activities generates mailing labels and shipping documents, pulls product for the order according to the work order, and completes packaging for pick up.
Pack goods in Category B & A shipping containers according to IATA guidelines.
Ensure that all orders have been filled correctly, attention to detail is a must for shipping clerk job
Comply with record filing of all products shipped and received for shipping clerk job
Shipping clerk performs cycle counts and updates NetSuite accordingly.
Troubleshoots inventory discrepancies for shipping department
Shipping clerk maintains safety stock of critical materials or supplies and triggers re-ordering accordingly
Audit storage and staging areas for optimum utilization of space management, protection to product, safety, environment, cleanliness, and inventory accuracy.
Shipping clerk Receives materials into the system according to established procedures. Performs the initial inspection before properly labeling and releasing the materials from quarantine to the lab.
Shipping clerk participates in the layout, reorganization, and implementation of improved storage space, storage techniques, and material handling systems.
Maintain clean and orderly workspaces and support the office as needed with filing and other activities for shipping clerk
Assist in the cleanup and clean out of records and materials.
Assist with routine operation activities as required for shipping clerk.
