Our Global Underwriting and Research & Development Unit is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified individual to be based in their Mumbai Office.
Your Role
You are a member of a specialized team of data scientists providing out-of-the box solution for all aspects of the insurance and reinsurance business.
Your key responsibilities
Together with the team, provide integrated solutions for business based on data driven insights and strategies
Perform extraction of data and develop basic database queries and data profiles
Perform advanced Statistical and Machine Learning modelling exercise to develop description/predictive/prescriptive models
Perform data visualization and reporting for effective communication of insights generated by modelling exercises
Participate in regional and international initiatives and projects
Your Profile
Degree qualified in Quantitative Science or relevant discipline
3 to 5 years’ experience in model development, validation and implementation
Proficient in R and/or Python
Basic understanding of common algorithms like GLM, Decision Trees, Random Forests, XGBoost and Time Series
Passion for new learning and techniques in the field of Data Science and its application in Insurance
Prior experience in (re)insurance and pursuit of actuarial studies a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good command of English, both spoken and written
Able to work independently as well as a strong team player
Willing to relocate to Mumbai
