Job Overview

Children’s Hospital Colorado’s mission is to improve the health of children through the provision of high-quality coordinated programs of patient care, education, research and advocacy. This position will be dedicated to the research pillar of our mission, elevating child health research among our internal and external audiences. Critical to this role is close collaboration with the Anschutz Medical Campus and the CU School of Medicine, our partners in advancing child health research.
The mid-level copywriter is part of the Clinical Program Marketing Team and takes strategic and creative direction from our marketing leadership and senior-level content specialists. This individual is a creative collaborator who can develop ideas with scientists and researchers across the campus. A savvy interviewer and excellent storyteller who can bring a story to life in print, audio, visual and web-based platforms.

Collaborate with other team members (designers, copywriters, videographers, strategists) in developing communication concepts that reflect the unique position of Children’s Colorado and our research vision to our diverse audience segments

Conduct project research/interviews to ensure subject matter understanding and accuracy. Works closely with marketing, service lines, clinical and research teams to create and implement solutions, and obtain input and approval.

Produce and advise on a range of content across formats and channels

Qualifications

EDUCATION – Bachelor’s degree in copywriting, journalism, marketing, public relations, communications, English or a related field.
EXPERIENCE – Three years of experience relevant to the assigned discipline, in an agency, studio, or corporate environment.

Excellent oral and written skills, experience using AP Style
Experience writing and influencing B2B or scientific/medical audiences
Familiarity with medical terminology, knowledgeable about healthcare
Ability to research and translate scientific or medical information in a clear and concise manner, through engaging writing
Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with seasoned creative and marketing teams
Proficiency with relevant technology and software applications
Provide relevant writing samples that demonstrate excellent communication and writing skills and execution
Analytical approach to measurement, using data insights to improve audience engagement and outcomes
EQUIVALENCY – Professional experience, beyond requirements, in a related field may substitute for a Bachelor degree requirement on a year for year basis.

Salary Information
Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $58,798.07 to $88,197.11
Hourly Salary Range: $28.27 to $42.40
