Job Description : Patient Account Representative, OPA – Anchorage, Full – Time
$500 SIGNING BONUS after completion of 90 days in this position.
Orthopedic Physicians Alaska seeks a highly skilled, dedicated, and professional Patient Account Representative to join our rapidly growing and dynamic team. Representative duties
Provide outstanding customer service to all patientsAnswer patient calls regarding account questions, concerns or complaintAnswer insurance and billing questions for patients and the staffAdvise and explain insurance coverage, co-pays, and deductibles to patientsWork with patients and insurance companies to resolve balancesReview and appeal insurance denialsReview and submit corrected claimsReview and process both patient and insurance company overpaymentsInitiate collection actions when necessary
Knowledge and skill requirements
Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9/10 codingKnowledge and understanding of billing proceduresKnowledge and understanding of HIPAA rules and regulationsAble to understand and explain EOBsKnowledge of primary and secondary coordination of benefitsAble to work in an integrated team that includes posting, collections and pre-certification
Required qualifications
Two (2) years medical office experienceHigh school diploma or equivalent
Preferred (in addition to required) qualifications
Two (2) years medical office experience in an orthopedic clinicCPC certification from an accredited coding institution
