Job Description : “AK Child & Family practices the Sanctuary Model which is a non-hierarchical, highly participatory, trauma-informed and evidence-supported whole culture approach, which helps the organization function in a safe, democratic and socially responsible manner and thereby provide effective treatment for clients and the community.”The Parent Partner will promote family preservation by working directly with at risk families in the community served, to strengthen and support the family unit.This position is to be an advocate, model advocacy and ensure that the “voice” of the family is leading care planning and implementation.The position may provide services that include parenting coaching, teaching and the promotion of parent involvement activities.This position will provide information, referrals and linkages to available community resources.This position will assist to advance the family’s home management skills and provide hands on assistance in the maintenance of a safe and healthy environment.The Parent Partner will provide families with information, referrals and linkages to available community resources.This position will work directly with at risk families in the community or their homes in order to promote, strengthen and develop parenting skills as well as provide parent coaching, teaching and the promotion of parent involvement activities.The Parent Partner will promote the development of family organizational and budget management skills to empower the family to achieve self-sufficiency.This position will perform a variety of tasks to ensure a safe and healthy home environment including cleaning, teaching appropriate household maintenance skills and assisting with developing house cleaning routines.This position will assist families experiencing a crisis in which immediate response is required for crisis stabilization on a short term basis only.All employees with AK Child & Family are required to be in compliance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid COVID vaccine mandate. The mandate requires that by 2/14/22, staff at all health care facilities must have received their first dose of a 2-shot series (Moderna or Pfizer, currently) or a single dose of a 1-shot vaccine (Johnson and Johnson, currently) with the exception of those that have sought and been granted an exemption to the COVID mandate. Staff must complete this step before they can provide any care, treatment or other services for the facility and/or its patients.
