Job Description : THE POSITION
This position provides key administrative support and detailed coordination for Bureau leadership and for the Divisions of Professional Education and Teacher Quality and Certification Services, including, but not limited to, the bureau’s online Teacher Information Management System (TIMS), working with educational preparation program providers, and local education agencies.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The candidate must be highly skilled in working in a fast-paced and challenging work environment assisting in all aspects of educator preparation and certification as well as staffing guidance to Local Education Agencies. Work involves advanced technical skills in writing, reviewing and developing documents of various types including professional reports, spreadsheets, and technical documents. While this position is full of challenges, it is also rewarding. The work being done is essential to supporting education in the Commonwealth.
The candidate must be a consummate professional who is able to multitask and work well with professional staff and the public. They must be able to learn complex information quickly and be able to assist individuals with questions by phone and email as well as do basic troubleshooting for problems people encounter with systems used to process applications.
The candidate must have good working knowledge of the use of various electronic processing systems to scan important documents and also do research. They must have exceptional computer skills including the ability to update financial and technical information in a sophisticated online management system.
Full-time employment.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with a one hour lunch period.
You will have the opportunity for work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
Required to physically report to the office on Monday each week.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Qualifications:
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training.
