Explore the chance to join our team and contribute in a meaningful, rewarding, and positive work environment devoted to building a better Hawaiʻi for today and tomorrow.Primary PurposeProvide case management and serve as life coach to families participating in the Keiki Assets Account (KA‘A) program.Essential DutiesProvide information and encouragement to families at least once every other week;Schedule one on one meetings with families at least once a month to help them identify challenges, issues, and opportunities or as needed;Connect families to established partnerships with community organizations/agencies to support them in financial literacy, budgeting, goal setting, housing stability, employment, career planning, parenting, and other areas;Assess needs of families and make referrals as appropriate;Follow-up weekly with families dealing with crisis situations;Work with ‘Eleu partner organizations to encourage wrap around services for the families with multiple risk factors;Help families celebrate incremental achievement of goals;Work closely with CSA Coordinator to communicate family situations which may impact participation in KA‘A;Support families as they work with CSA Coordinator and partner financial institutions to establish and maintain the child savings accounts/keiki asset accounts;Guide and train program volunteers, if any, to support participant families;Develop and maintain positive relationships and on-going communication with families, PIDF management, ‘Eleu partner agencies, financial institutions and community partners.Other DutiesOther duties as assigned including, but not limited to, assisting families with completing all forms and documentations necessary for referral services and other support.Work Hours8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday through Friday or as otherwise determined by the supervisor;Position requires regular and predictable attendance;Some events on nights or weekends at various times depending on the event.Working ConditionsMainly telework;In-person or virtual meetings with participant families;Program sites at shelters, designated area homeless camps, community centers, various event sites, meeting and professional development sites;Travel in personal vehicle to and from program sites;Travel to the continental U.S. may be required.Equipment UseMay include use of: personal vehicle, computer, laptop, laminator, copier, shredder, fax machine, video and camera equipment, speaker system, office elevator, nametag maker, ice machine, refrigerator, microwave, paper cutter, office phones, work cell phones/Bluetooth.Mental, Physical and Communication DemandsMental: Consistent adherence to the practice of Partners in Development Foundation’s (PIDF) five core values that are used as a guiding force in the success of all of its programs;Must be keenly aware of and attentive to program participants;Must analyze and problem solve issues;Must be able to prioritize and focus on multiple tasks that require analysis and attention to detail;Must possess and exercise strong interpersonal and organizational skills;Must be able to cope with stress that may be induced by the situations of our clients.Physical: Must be able to sit at desk at least 50% of work time;Requires lifting and carrying of up to 20 pounds on a regular basis;Must be able to kneel and bend and occasionally may be required to sit and work on the floor.Communication: Must exhibit courteous and professional demeanor towards program participants, vendors and partners, staff and administration via verbal, written, physical, and electronic correspondence;Requires excellent oral and written communication skills;Must be able to handle and maintain highly confidential information.Minimum Qualification RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Sociology, Family and Human Development, Counseling, Finance, or related field required;Knowledge of Native Hawaiian culture and language preferred;At least one (1) year of experience working with families, financial planning and budgeting required;Must have access to a vehicle, have a valid driver’s license, a safe and responsible driving record, and current no-fault auto insurance, with at least $100k in bodily collision per person and $25k in property damage liability.All applicants are advised that post conditional offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted, and they must successfully pass the drug test.
