THE POSITION
Our roster has an opening with your name on it

The Communications Associate will join a fast paced and nimble in-house Communications/PR team supporting FanDuel’s casino, sportsbook, daily fantasy, skill games and racing business units. This highly motivated person will primarily support the Casino Team in externally promoting our platform in states we operate. In addition, this role will help coordinate critical timelines, calendars and preparation for industry events, awards submissions, as well as news coordination with our social, brand and partnerships teams.

THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play

Assist in the overall communications strategy for FanDuel, providing administrative support to the team and performing other related duties
Write and update press releases and other press and marketing materials
Help with planning internal and external events working with Events team to provide logistical support
Organize and maintain industry conference/events/awards calendar and help identify opportunities to place key executives at events that will support greater company objectives
Monitor industry news and flag issues and trends and relevant coverage, track and maintain media coverage
Assist in brainstorming ideas on ways to leverage FanDuel initiatives
Serve as liaison with other departments (product, engineering, legal) when necessary
Occasionally prepare pitches for reporters
Coordinate quarterly and annual activities in support of broader team objectives

THE STATS
What we’re looking for in our next teammate

Minimum of 2 years of experience at a PR agency or in-house for a sports company
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or Public Relations preferred
Strong writing skills required
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Be a news nerd – have the desire to follow and understand current events and how the media covers them
Ability to communicate news-worthy topics to the press
Thoughtful and excited for a challenge
Experience and understanding of casino and sports wagering industry a plus
