Job Description : POSITION: Communications Coordinator*REPORTS TO: Communications Manager**AGENCY SUMMARY: *Child Care Resources (CCR) has been at the forefront of the early learning landscape for 30 years ensuring that all children have equitable access to safe, engaging, and positive early learning experiences that promote school readiness and lifetime success. With a staff of 130 and a budget of $27 million (89% publicly funded), CCR provides a broad array of services for families and child care providers so that they in turn can support the development and well-being of our children.*OPPORTUNITY: *The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for providing a wide range of interagency support to include internal and external communications, marketing, design and public relations. The successful candidate for this position will ensure the integration and alignment of these efforts for maximum impact, reflecting our commitment to anti-racism, equity, and inclusion.The ideal candidate for this position will have a deep passion for social justice and equity for all children, relationship-building skills, and strengths in cultural relevance, problem solving, and engaging community in CCR’s work. The individual will have a history of engaging collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders and be energized by building intentional internal and external relationships.The Communications Coordinator will work in a team of eight: Chief External Affairs Officer, Development Director, Communications Manager, Policy and Advocacy Manager, Evaluation and Quality Assurance Manager, Development and Communications Coordinator, and Mobilization Coordinator. They will support the work of development; communications; policy/advocacy; evaluation; and programs, ensuring the CCR story is well communicated and impactful.They will serve as a member of the External Affairs Department providing key communications perspective and participating in program decisions in collaboration with other department and agency members.*NATURE, SCOPE, AND RESPONSBILITIES: *Provide support in creating, planning, and publishing all social media activity for all agency platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube)Support the Communications Manager with creating, designing, branding, editing, and proofreading all agency communication materials to ensure mission/vision alignment, consistency, utilization of agency’s brand style guide, and incorporation of inclusive and accessible communication methodsParticipate in the development and implementation of new marketing outreach activities and collateral developmentProvide support to staff as needed to aid in their learning and usage of the agency’s brand style guide, as well as development and understanding of inclusive and accessible communicationsCollect, organize, and maintain agency photo/story bank with community photos and storiesAssist in updating agency website content and function and troubleshoot with vendors as neededProvide support in developing, planning, and maintaining content for agency website blogUse design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva, to develop print and digital communication materials and templates; including coordination of content, design, print, and translation needsSupport in maintaining agency intranet (SharePoint), monitoring function and content, training new users, and collaborating with vendors as neededSupport a broad array of communications initiatives, including email announcements, social media campaigns, fundraising events, digital campaigns, annual reports, legislative sessions, communication trainings, outreach toolkits, translation and interpretation, media engagement, and media contact maintenanceDevelop a general understanding of all agency programs, events and initiatives and be able to speak and write on behalf of them effectively and consistentlyStay up to date and have knowledge and understanding of current communication trends, specifically in digital and social mediaPull and analyze paid advertisements and other communication statistics to measure the effectiveness of agency communicationsParticipate in cross team responsibilities to include Fund Development and Advocacy communications support, and work in conjunction with the Development and Communications Coordinator and Mobilization Coordinator, especially during busy seasonsSchedule and coordinate communications-related meetings with internal and external partners as needed*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: *Two+ years of communications, marketing, graphic design, and/or copywriting experience preferredEffective writing and editorial skillsAble to prioritize work, adapt to changes in workload demands, multi-task and follow throughCreative thinker, capable of introducing new and better ways to deliver the Child Care Resources message.
