Conducts ad hoc analyses, prepares reportsand presents information. Helps toenable adoption of analytic tools and data-driven decision making.PrimaryJob Duties and Responsibilities: Identifies data requirements by partneringwith managers and other stakeholders.Designs and develops SQL queries, extractsdata from databases and analyzes the data using a variety of analyticaltechniques. Prepares accurate reportsand presents findings. Assists in the development of routine reportsto satisfy contractual reporting requirements, track and trend health planperformance, effect and facilitate ongoing performance monitoring ofprogram(s). Performs utilization analysis utilizing datafrom different sources and reports results.Creates and maintains supporting projectdocumentation (SQL, data request, data sets) and ensures distribution ofdocumentation to appropriate staff as required.Provides data and analytical support fordepartment and organizational initiatives.Assists with standardized and automated reportdevelopment. Provides training to AlohaCare staff on use ofavailable statistical and analytical tools (e.g. Excel, R, reporting tools) asappropriate.Performs other duties as assigned. Responsible tomaintain AlohaCare’s confidential information in accordance with AlohaCare policies,and state and federal laws, rules and regulations regardingconfidentiality. Employees have access to AlohaCare data based on thedata classification assigned to this job title.RequiredCompetencies & Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in computerscience, information systems, mathematics, statistics, public health, healthsciences, data analysis, accounting or related field.1-3 years professional training or workexperience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties required forthe position. Equivalent combination of education andexperience.Prior experience using SQL, Excel, otherstatistical/analytical tools and understanding of logic operators andconditional statements.Knowledge of relational databases andstructures.Strong problem solving and reasoning skills.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability towork with cross functional teams.Ability to work independently with minimalsupervision.Achieves results, builds trust, communicateeffectively, customer and quality focused.Ability to multi-task and work in achallenging fast-paced environment.Requires operation of general office equipmentto include; PC, fax/copy machine and ACD Mitel Phones. Advanced skill using Microsoft Programs; Word,Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookPreferredCompetencies & Qualifications: SSRS, QlikView, SSAS or reporting automationexperience.Experience with computer systems and softwareprograms such as R/SAS/SPSS or equivalent statistical package.Health care industry experience within managedcare, hospital, medical office or equivalent preferred. Knowledge of health research methodology,biostatistics, and medical terminology.PhysicalDemands/Working Conditions: Inside working conditions. No environmental hazards. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds offorce occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantlyto lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of thetime, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
