Job Description : POSITION TITLE: Development AssociateSTATUS: Non-ExemptREPORTS TO: Director of DevelopmentPosition SummaryThe Development Associate provides support to the Director of Development in the achievement of the annual fund development goals for the office, assists the Director of Development in the overall implementation and evaluation of the fund development plan on an ongoing basis. The Development Associate develops a process for the identification, cultivation and solicitation of prospects by the appropriate combination of staff and board. Furthermore, the Development Associate assists that program staff and the grant writing consultant with grant requirements and reports. The Development Associate supports the Director of Development in ensuring the conditions required by the funding sources are being met and reported as necessary.Essential Functions:Provides information for the identification, cultivation and solicitation of foundation, corporate and individual gifts and pledges.Assists in researching and writing proposals for grants.Provides guidance regarding the coordination and planning for proposal delivery strategies.Identifies potential contributors to ongoing programs and special projects through examination of past record of contributors, knowledge of community, and research.Tracks and reports on grants received.Researches public and private grant agencies and foundations to identify potential sources of funding for research, community service, or other projects.Maintains fund development software and provides data from such software for fund development campaigns.Works with staff to gather the data necessary for donor recognition, solicitation drives, and ongoing corporate, foundation and individual donor support.Assists in evaluating the efforts put into fund raising activities in order to generate the greatest return on investment.Additional Responsibilities: Performs other similar or related duties as necessary.QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree or higher in English, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.
