Position : Dispatcher
Job Description : The primary function of the Dispatcher is to create trucking routes that keep costs down while meeting customer scheduling needs. $25.00-$26.00 per hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develop delivery routes and maintain contact with drivers throughout the day.
Collaborate with management to modify daily routes to accommodate the needs of customers.
Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers.
Monitor any sudden route changes or road construction issues and work with drivers to establish timely deliveries.
Adjust to last minute changes and work with drivers to schedule emergency pick-up or delivery for new or established clients when necessary.
Other duties as assigned.

Graduation from High School or GED equivalent, one (1) year of relevant experience, or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities.
Minimum one years’ experience with creating delivery routes and dispatching drivers in a fast paced environment.
Strong knowledge of the greater Salt Lake City metro area, navigation skills with the ability to understand maps and GPS.
Must be customer oriented and motivated with excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong communication skills are critical as this position is in constant contact with both customers and other employees located at all branches and departments of the company.
Strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under time constraints and strict deadlines.
Detail oriented with the ability to record and maintain accurate records and documentation.
Strong working knowledge of PC environment and MS Office programs.
Experience with Harris Data Systems a plus.
Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to write routine reports and routine correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with employees and customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations required to accurately complete assigned tasks.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to use sound judgment and problem solving skills to analyze employee technical problems and to recommend the proper course of action. Ability to organize and prioritize job projects and requirements.
