IT Customer Support Journey

Eastern State Hospital (ESH) is seeking an experienced computer support specialist to provide IT support and consultation for hospital staff.

In this role, you’ll provide technical support for hospital systems and applications, including desktop hardware and software, remote access, Telehealth video conferencing, staff mobility support, Outlook / Exchange / Enterprise Email Vault, Mobile Device Management, managed print services, secure file transfer, and computer systems across our 200-acre hospital campus.

The ESH IT unit provides mission-critical support services, so that staff and hospital leadership may ensure safe, efficient, and effective behavioral health services are delivered to patients living in an in-patient psychiatric hospital or receiving forensic psychological evaluations at a remote location.

Some of what you’ll do
Provide technical consultation and support for organizational tools/hardware for business, IT infrastructure, and desktop applications
Perform security upgrades to workstations, laptops, and tablets
Manage and provide primary support services for print/scan/copy/fax services, Vault end-users, Secure File Transfer Protocol, M365, Team/WebEx/Telehealth video, and remote access
Lead and continuously improve all help desk support ticketing processes
Lead and assign work tickets to lower level technicians
Create and maintain end-user computer accounts, user folders, shared folders, and grant appropriate security access for all hospital and field office staff
Provide computer account administration and technical expertise for external organizations that access hospital systems (e.g., Attorney General’s office)
Manage the ESH Active Directory organizational unit
Lead/train lower-level IT staff who serve as accounts administrator backup

Who we are looking for
Professionals with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or allied field (or an associates degree in a computer science field and 2 years of desktop/application support experience)
As well as the following:
Three years of experience managing Microsoft Active Directory in a complex, multi-tiered, federated environment and building/maintaining computer images using Windows Deployment Services
CompTIA A+ certification
Network + certification
Desired:
A master’s degree in computer science or closely allied field
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
