This position will be at Micron’s Northern Virginia facility in Manassas, where Micron will invest $3 billion dollars to expand production. As part of the expansion, Micron will establish a global research and development center in Manassas for memory and storage solutions primarily focused on the automotive, industrial and networking markets.
Performs electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process. Dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, schematics or drawings. Uses test and diagnostic equipment to identify equipment problems. Rebuilds and performs preventative maintenance on manufacturing or support equipment as required. May perform equipment modifications as directed by engineers. Monitor’s area tool performance using applications such as SPC, FDC, tool logs, etc. Supports and is active in area and department TPM initiatives and teams.
Qualifications:
Problem solving: Proven ability to use logic, and knowledge to identify root cause
Vacuum Fundamentals
Fluid Dynamic: pressure and flow fundamentals
Computers: navigation through various windows or levels, basic understanding of computer maintenance for optimal performance
Basic to intermediate knowledge of AC/DC circuits, including fundamentals of electricity, and basic electronic components and circuits
Basic knowledge of test and calibration equipment (O-scopes, Multi Meters, Torque Wrench)
Ability to identify and use common hand tools
A mechanical aptitude and the ability to use schematics, blueprints, and other diagrams to troubleshoot and complete repairs.
Proven ability to troubleshoot basic problems, find root causes, and complete repairs
Basic understanding of mathematical concepts and problem solving at least into an algebraic level
Basic PC skills including MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to learn Micron systems and conduct data extraction, analysis, and report findings
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control principles
The ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 10hrs a shift)
The ability to walk intermittently (up to 5 miles a shift)
The ability to perform light assembly with hand-held tools weighing less than 3 lbs
The ability to work with various gases and chemicals used for production processes and maintenance
The ability to lift 25- 40 pounds regularly
The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
The ability to wear personal protective gear including respirator breathing apparatus
The ability to perform tasks while bending, crouching, or kneeling
The ability to climb ladders and work with arms raised above head level
