Job Description : ALTR is a new beverage technology startup creating radical new solutions in the low- non-alcoholic drinks market.We are looking for a scientist focused on filtration techniques to join our growing team in our Phoenix Lab.While we have a very specific need for filtration expertise we are a company that embraces broad and non-traditional approaches to solving problems. If you feel like you would like to define a whole new industry and have skills in any of the following areas please get in touch.This is a hands-on role running your own experiments with lots of collaboration with some of the world’s top physicists, herbalists, and drinks makers.Position available as part or full time with significant options to grow with the company.Background: Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Chemistry.Relevant industrial work experience in filtration or membrane separation industries. E.g. Food/beverage, sewage, water purification, etc.Must be able to work at a benchtop scale and plan for the commercial roll-out of developed solutions.Skills: Experience with various membrane separation unit operations (gas separation, gas/liquid contacting, osmosis, pervaporation, nanofiltration, etc.)Expertise in experiments on fluid/liquid treatment and/or membrane separation processes.Experience in modeling of gas/gas or gas/liquid flows and separation using membranes.Experience with synthesizing nanoporous materials and understanding of interfacial chemistry and physics on substrates is a plus.Experience with general analytical instruments and membrane characterization methods.Capability and willingness to design and execute hands-on laboratory experiments to support modeling efforts.Comfort with being the go-to person and expert in your areas of expertise.History of working in a highly dynamic and collaborative team.Function: Work closely with a core team to research, develop, and expand the membrane product portfolio to satisfy the emerging market needs.Provide technical assistance to the membrane manufacturing team and support continuous improvement activities.Design, execution, and data interpretation of experiments as well as providing guidance to team members.Evaluate membrane formulation and process improvements; assess alternative technologies.Prepare/review technical documents including process development reports, tech transfer documents, process characterization reports, and standard operating procedures.Project planning for internal, as well as externally driven research of membrane separation technologies.Hands-on operation of equipment and training of team members on new processes is required.Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $60,000.00 – $120,000.00 per yearSchedule:Monday to FridayEducation:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Experience:Filtration: 3 years (Preferred)Laboratory experience: 3 years (Preferred)Work Location: One location
