Position : Front Desk Medical Receptionist (Nogales & Tubac Clinics)
Job Description : **These positions will be located at the Nogales and Tubac Clinics**
Position Summary:
Clerical position responsible for receiving incoming telephone calls in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner and greeting/assisting visitors in the same manner. Verify insurance, schedule surgical cases, obtain necessary authorizations.
Major Duties:
Promptly and professionally answers telephone calls. Routes calls appropriately, offering voice mail, paging, or redirection of calls as needed.
Greets visitors and assists them as appropriate. Phones or pages employees to meet visitors, directs visitors to appropriate waiting areas, and appropriately and courteously screen solicitors for relevance to organization needs.
Utilizes knowledge of insurance companies to verify insurance, obtain authorization and assist in referring patients for care as directed by the provider.
Register patients, obtain all paperwork, insurance cards, copayments and HIPAA paperwork.
Explains financial requirements to the patients or responsible parties and collects copays as required.
Other duties as assigned by clinic manager and or provider.
Minimum Qualifications and Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma/equivalent or graduation from a Medical Assisting program.
One year of experience in customer service or reception in a health care environment.
Strong communication skills: ability to read, write and speak English
Must possess basic computer skills
