Job Description : Position Title: Crisis Line Phone WorkerReports to: Crisis Services ClinicianType: PT & FT / Non-ExemptLocation: Seattle, WACompensation: Crisis connections offers a competitive hourly rate of $17.62/hr which subject to $2/hr shift differential pay, and a generous benefits package which includes but is not limited to paid time off, employer paid health/vision/dental insurance, and 403(b)/TDA retirement plan. We offer an array of support services that are free and easily accessible addressing “all things crisis”. Our core programs include: the 24-Hour Crisis Line, King County 2-1-1, Teen Link, WA Warm Line, WA Recovery Help Line, and support after suicide services. With over 350 trained volunteers and 160 staff, CC provides support, resources and certified training for King County and other communities statewide.POSITION SUMMARY: Crisis Connections Phone Workers offer emotional support and information/referrals to the community. The Crisis Line Phone Worker is responsible for answering calls on the Crisis Line and providing support to callers.RESPONSIBILITIES: A. Crisisintervention1. Help caller identify and clarify issues and feelings; gather information, assist caller in identifying resources and developing action plans.B. PsychiatricEmergency Service 1. Under direction of supervisor, assess and refer emergent situations to appropriate crisis intervention services.C. Office Support1. Filing, shredding, and other duties as assigned.2. The Crisis Line Phone Worker will participate in the Crisis Line Volunteer Training and complete 60 hours of specialized training. The training includes the following modules:a. Working w/ Differenceb. Crisis Interventionc. Grief and Lossd. Relationship Abusee. Addictive Behavior & Recoveryf. Active Listening Skills and Role Play Practiceg. Mental Healthh. Suicide Interventioni. Resources & Loggingj. Volunteer Logistics & Clinic Policies and Proceduresk. Simulated Phone Room Training (SPRT)D. Quantity and Quality of Work / Work Habits1. Arrives at work on time and maintains regular attendance; working assigned shifts and other shifts when needed.2. Follows personnel policies and procedures.3. Written and verbal communication is clear, concise, accurate and thorough.4. Demonstrates genuine relationships by cooperating with others, handling disagreements directly with the person(s) concerned in a truthful and open manner and accepting constructive feedback. Shows respect to co-workers, volunteers and customers/clients.5. Makes appropriate use of supervisor, follows hand-raising protocol.6. Promotes a healthy work environment by demonstrating collaborative decision-making and team-building behaviors; provides peer support and motivates staff and volunteers to outstanding performance.7.
