Bonus!JOB FUNCTION: The Housing and Water System Technician supports oversees all housing maintenance and the domestic water systems that supply orchard housing.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Water SystemsAdd chemicals such as ammonia, chlorine, or lime to disinfect and deodorize water and other liquids.Operate and adjust controls on equipment to purify and clarify water, process or dispose of sewage, and generate power.Inspect equipment or monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges to determine load requirements and detect malfunctions.Collect and test water using test equipment and color analysis standards.Record operational data, personnel attendance, or meter and gauge readings on specified forms.Maintain, repair, and lubricate equipment, using hand tools and power tools.Clean and maintain tanks and filter beds, using hand tools and power tools.Direct and coordinate orchard workers engaged in routine operations and maintenance activities.HousingInspect orchard housing units for needed maintenanceMonitor and replace weather strippingMaintain building interiors and exteriorsInspect fire detection and protection systems and equipmentAssist with installation and maintenance of heating and ventilation systemsConduct remodeling activities to existing orchard facilities including but not limited to:Framing including doors and windowsInstall and maintain sidingInstall and maintain drywall and interiorsMaintain finishing of the building and ceilingsInstall and maintain flooringMaintain the roofingMaintain porches and/or outside gazebosInstall and maintain appliances including stoves, refrigerators and washing machines.Build stairs and other items as requiredOversee all orchard laundry facilities including but not limited to:Collect money from washer and dryersInspect facility for cleanliness and direct custodial staffInspect laundry equipment for serviceability.Coordinate the repair and/or replacement of laundry equipment that is malfunctioning or broken.Administrative dutiesKeep a daily/weekly log of tasksCreate and follow preventative maintenance schedules.Maintain equipment and toolsTake, process and track maintenance requests from housing occupants.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of:Carpentry and building maintenanceSafe operation of basic hand power toolsHeating and ventilation systemsBasic electricityAppliance maintenanceWork place safetyWhen to contact qualified service personnelSkills:Carpentry and building maintenanceMechanical aptitudeAbility to operate carpentry equipment safelyAbility to work housing occupantsEffective time managementAbility to read building specifications and floor plan drawingsAbility to learn water system operations to advance toward water operator certification.Personal attributesHonesty and trustworthinessRespectful of all peopleUnderstand cultural awareness and sensitivityFlexibilityDemonstrate sound work ethicsDeal with housing occupants in a positive, courteous and respectful manner.Job Type: Full-timePay: $50,000.00 – $65,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insuranceVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayOn callWeekend availabilitySupplemental Pay:Bonus paySigning bonusExperience:Water Systems Technician: 2 years (Preferred)License/Certification:Driver’s License (Preferred)Work Location: Multiple Locations
