Position : Human Resources Manager
Job Description : JOB SUMMARY: The Manager of Human Resources will provide Human Resource support. The Manager Human Resources will work closely and effectively with all levels of employees, including management, in the area of human resource issues, problems and questions.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide full cycle recruiting to meet various staffing goals.Develop strong relationships with Contract Project Managers.Work closely with President and Contract Project Managers to maximize effectiveness of recruiting process.Track and report key metrics designed to measure effectiveness of recruiting process.Prepare and distribute “New Hire” packets, including offers of employment.Participate in new employee onboarding process, including pre-employment drug screenings, E-Verify, etc.Participate in company’s progressive disciplinary process, including Corrective Action Notices (CANs) and recommendations for demotions and/or terminations.Establish and maintain new and terminated employee files.Input, update, and track employee information in Paychex.Utilize and analyze Paychex scheduling data.Administer annual and/or random drug testing process.Participate in the employer interactive process for employee requested disability and/or religious accommodations.Address, investigate and report on claims of harassment, hostile workplace, retaliation, etc.Research employment laws for application to specific employment relations situations.Ensure compliance with FMLA (if applicable), enforce policy, process requests, distribute paperwork, request recertification and maintain/track leave taken.Respond to worker’s compensation injuries and claims administration.Respond to unemployment claims and appeals.Complete and submit mandated federal reports, unemployment claims, and worker’s compensation as defined by due dates.Compile employee information regarding affirmative action, including updating monthly termination logs, promotion/transfer logs, and applicant flow logs.Communicate daily with the President regarding any employee related issues.Advise employees and management on personnel inquiries as needed.Support Payroll Department as needed with the processing of company payroll.Primary back up for processing and submitting payroll.Administer and oversee benefits open enrollment.Assist employees with answering benefit questions and policy/procedure questions as needed.Administer online benefits portal.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS: The Manager of Human Resources must have a BA/BS degree with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a human resource function. Experience in the construction industry a plus. Computer proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Additional skills in Paychex (required) and Sage 100 (a plus).Candidate must have a dynamic, proactive attitude with the ability and willingness to take on additional responsibilities, along with the ability to exercise professional judgment in solving technical accounting issues.
