Position : IT Help Desk Technician
Job Description : Central Community Health Board (CCHB) is seeking a full-time IT Help Desk Technician to act as first level IT help desk support. Responsible for gathering detailed and adequate information about user problems and requests for timely, efficient and effective troubleshooting. Technician assesses the issue/request and either resolves or responds to the user with next steps. Delivers training to staff on how to use CCHB’s software applications efficiently and effectively in order to support CCHB’s objectives. Troubleshoots problems and questions presented by users and communicates with them in both verbal and written form.Primary Duties: Ensures customer satisfaction by responding to incoming calls, emails and requests to the help desk. Provides support for such requests, including desktop, hardware, software, network, phone and application support.Enters complete information of all help desk interactions into CCHB’s help desk software in a timely manner. Documents resolution and/or any applicable additional information before assigning to another team member.Monitors incoming work orders into CCHB’s help desk software at initiation through resolution. Assigns, prioritizes, schedules and escalates work orders as necessary. Escalates work orders requiring urgent attention.Ensures timely resolution to issues/requests by tracking work orders and keeping staff updated on the status of work order resolution.Trains CCHB staff on general IT items and the use of software and technology used at CCHB on an initial and ongoing basis, as needed.Administers and maintains user accounts for Harbor systems (i.e., staff network, e-mail accounts, active directory, software, etc.), including removing accessibility as soon as staff is terminated from CCHB. Coordinates staff needs with supervisor, as well as removal of upon termination (i.e., e-mail account and user folder).Maintains understanding of CCHB’s business process workflows and the use of technology/software.Tests updates, customizations, and new releases of the software and technology used and supported at CCHB. Has good understanding of CCHB’s network structure.Participates as an active member of the IT Team helping other team members as required.Keeps current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies, and demonstrates continued growth.RequirementsRequires a minimum of an Associate’s degree in computer science or information technology or proven experience in providing IT end user support.Must be comfortable training staff one-on-one or in a classroom setting on technology software.Must be proficient in Windows operating system.Must have transportation and be able to use personal car for job related duties.Must be able to: multitask, problem solve, learn protocols quickly, maintain confidentiality, prioritize workload and communicate technical issues to a non-technical audience.Must be: patient, conscientious, self-motivated, independent and customer friendly.About CCHB: A leading provider of mental health and substance use treatment for over 100 years350+ clinical staff serve over 24,000 clients across multiple locations and in the community each yearServices ranging from counseling, pharmacological management, primary care, psychological testing, case management, substance use treatment, residential services, vocational program, and more!Why Work for Harbor/CCHB?It is fast-paced and challenging, but you will have a lot of fun in the process.
