If yes, then we’d like to invite you to apply to be a Local Coordinator for the STS Foundation Exchange Student Program.Investing in our nation’s futureSTS Foundation is expanding its team of Local Coordinators across California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska and Nevada, and the interest is greater than ever for STS Foundation’s exchange student program! We are presently seeking an individual who is passionate about making the world a better place by investing in our youth, and a candidate who possesses good knowledge of their local community members.At STS Foundation, you will be working with the best and brightest people from around the world, as you help us deliver the most positive and safest homestay experience possible for our exchange participants. We’re passionate about meeting our goals, but we always have a fun time getting there!Be in charge of your own scheduleSTSF Coordinators have the flexibility of establishing their own hours, as well as determining their own recruitment goals and community action plan.Coordinators receive free weekly professional development coaching, as well as ongoing regional support.Local Coordinators can qualify for a free annual international trip group trip to EuropeIndependent Contractor Pay …STS Foundation maintains one of the highest stipend payments in the student exchange industry. Coordinators receive a student placement and orientation stipend, as well as 10 months of direct deposit supervision stipends for each student supervised. ($1,000 per student annually, i.e place 10 students, make $10K for the year)Applicants must be 25+ and pass a State Department required background checkResponsibilities of a Local CoordinatorRecruit host families by marketing the STSF program locally through community leaders, organizations, and Facebook groups. STSF provides training materials and many helpful and creative coaching sessions on recruiting high-quality host families.Place and supervise between 1-20 students per program year.Conduct an in-home interview of all host family members. You will assess the home environment. The host family needs to be able to provide a safe, supportive, and stable home for the student.Assist the host family in selecting a student that will be a good match for their family.Work with the local high schools to obtain policies and procedures for placing exchange students in their schools and determine the number of spaces available for foreign exchange students.Act as the main support and contact for the schools in your area. Contact the schools where you have placed students according to the monthly contact directives.Conduct orientations for both host families and students.Be available for the students you place to counsel, guide, and mentor them throughout the program.Provide support and guidance to the host parents throughout the program.Contact the students, host families, and school counselor monthly, either by phone, in-person or email as specified on the Agreement.
