For the Voith Hydro, Machining department, we are looking for:
Machinist Apprentice
York, PA
$24.18 to start
York, PA
SALARY & BENEFITS: $24.18/hour to start apprenticeship, with four scheduled 5% incremental increases to bring you to Journeyman rate upon completion of apprenticeship. Shift differential for off-shifts of $1.00/hour. Vacation after 500 hours, and benefits kick in within 30 days.
Responsibilities –
Maintain a safe work environment
Complete required book work per apprenticeship standards
On the job training will include hands on and mentored tasks such as machine set ups and layouts, machining parts to layout specifications and CNC programming
Qualifications –
Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED
Must be able to pass a working physical
Previous machine shop experience is a plus
Knowledge of G+M codes is a plus
Basic knowledge of trigonometry is a plus
Physical Demands –
Employees in this position are regularly required to walk, stand and use hands to finger, handle or feel. They are frequently required to reach with hands and arms. They are occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employees are required to talk and hear in an industrial setting (noise level is can be high at times) and regularly required to lift 10 pounds and occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
