Job Description : Position Summary: Responsible for utilizing all available technology in the design and/or configuration of total building control systems. This position’s emphasis is on the creation of the lowest total installed cost-effective system that meets customer expectations and quality control. This individual responds to engineering projects and design implementation as directed by Client Services Lead Engineer. This person will be the lead resource for assembling and submitting on designed materials for procurement.Minimum Requirements: Computer skills – Excel, Word, AutoCADBackground in any of the following desired: JCI, Trane, Alerton, Carrier, Siemens, Inet, Honeywell and NiagaraWorking knowledge in control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystemsPrimary Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to the following):Provide AutoCAD drafting support for various reliability projects (Software and computer will be provided)Drafting and design of Client Services Lead Engineers application process.Material procurement – includes assembly of Bill of Materials, validation of materials received and reconciliation of materials returned from projects to stock.Obtains lead-time discounts on materialsValidating and ensuring all inventory for BAS materials is currentKnowledge of cost control techniques, value engineering options, accounting principles, and inventory managementMaintains project file creation and storage of all drawings, backups and documentation from commissioning/field.Field verification site visits on design as directed by Client Services Lead EngineerAssembly of asbuilt drawings and delivery to customers upon completion of projectAssume personal and professional responsibilities for his/her actions and activities.Maintain a professional relationship with supervisor, fellow employees, and others.Be consistent and punctual in a submission of all work assignments to their supervisor.This job description gives an overview of the overall essential functions, competencies, skills, and abilities for the Design engineer role. Other job duties may be assigned that are not included in the job description.Working Conditions (relates to physical environment):Works in an indoor office environment. Periodic site visits to evaluate design & project requirements.Physical Demands: Typically, may sit comfortably to perform the work. However, the candidate must be able to stoop and bend on a frequent basis. Occasionally, may be required to perform moderate lifting of up to 25-50 lbs. Good hearing, vision, and depth perception are required.
