Job Description : As a Medical Records Clerk 2, you will demonstrate an understanding of medical record completeness for the continuation of patient care. To help achieve our mission, you will demonstrate computer proficiency in all software systems used in the Medical Record department. Your knowledge and understanding of the importance of the patient medical record is of vital importance. Showcasing knowledge of all Medical Record department operations is expected.
Job Responsibilities
Performs second analysis to ensure that all deficiencies have been satisfied.
Utilizes SoftMed Chart Locator to indicate the location of medical records.
Ensures that transcription changes are made appropriately to keep physician deficiencies current.
Retrieves medical records in accordance with unit specific guidelines in a timely manner.
Files medical record information in accordance with unit specific guidelines.
Responds to telephone requests for patient information as defined by unit specific guidelines.
Retrieves records for physician completion when appropriate.
Maintains the Medical Record department filing system for record organization and retrieval to meet departmental goals.
Additional Requirements
Education:
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Skills:
MicroSoft Word proficiency. Excellent communication skills.
