Introduction:
The Visualization & BI Analyst – CCO MI is a key role within the MI Service Delivery and Business Intelligence area of the controls team in Barclays. This role is an integral part of the organization’s increasing emphasis on maintaining and enhancing our controls information and reporting framework, to demonstrate meeting regulatory requirements and delivering on our commitments to stakeholders.
Responsible for sourcing, collating, validating, producing and publishing MI Tableau dashboards, making appropriate changes in Oracle database for the controls environment and using Alteryx / VBA for automation and efficiency gains. In addition to the dashboards there are numerous ad-hoc requests for data / specific excel/PPT reports that must also be produced. Role holder will also require to participate in various Data and Control Governance forums to provide input as well as take actions back to their area. Accuracy, version control and timeliness are key to the success of this role. They will work closely with the control officers and their teams, technology teams, insight leads, as well as other stakeholders to deliver MI business intelligence & visualisation solutions that facilitate effective risk based decision making across the organization
What will you be doing?
The role holder will be accountable for forward planning, prioritization to ensure accurate and timely preparation of the Controls MI, Governance and Risk Management. The role holder will follow the set benchmark for the “best of breed” solutions to the Controls MI preparation, Governance and Risk Management practises. The role holder will maintain a continual focus on improving efficiency and consistency.
Work with stakeholders/ business to understand Control reporting requirements in order to seamlessly convert data into actionable metrics that will help the business manage and monitor the control environmentPrepare MI reports and packs (Tableau, Excel, PPT) that feed into various Control Committees and enhance with supporting commentary where requiredPlay a key role in MI reporting transformation by converting excel/PPT reporting into Tableau Dashboards and automate data manipulation using excel VBA, Alteryx or Oracle databaseCreate simple sharepoint sites and modify as per project needsIdentify fields in data repository, which require completion/attribution to provide accurate management information, compile list, communicate fixes required and follow up.Extract data and analyse it to identify duplicate data or data requiring re-mapping, compile list of suggested fixes, communicate fixes, and obtain approval process fixes.Process ad hoc data loads from Business Units, Business admin jobs e.g. preparing MOMs, booking forums/ meetings, follow-ups, etc.Produce standard set of reports at required frequency to distribute via e-mail or common site (Share point)Develop and produce Controls MI/ Data Quality Metrics highlighting data inconsistencies/ anamoliesCollection: This job requires detailed coordination of data from specific metric/risk owners and integrating the design (technology or process to aggregate it in desired format), implementation, and supportDeals with requests for ad hoc reports from onshore stakeholdersOrganises and coordinates implementation of tasks to ensure compliance with goals and unit objectives, as well as maintenance of optimal operating efficiency within the unit
What we’re looking for:
Graduate in any discipline (preferably BE/BTech/MCA/equivalent)Experience in Controls, Governance, Reporting and Risk Management preferably in a financial services organisationFluent in the English language, both orally and writtenProficient in the following incl. industry recognised qualifications – Advanced Data Visualisation (Tableau), Alteryx, Oracle / SQL, Excel, Power Point, SharepointIndustry recognised qualifications in an intermediate Programming Language (Preferably Python, VBA)Excellent Attention to DetailExperience of working with information management systemsExperience of working in confidential environmentsHighly motivated, business-focussed and forward thinking.Experience in senior stakeholder management. Ability to manage relationships across multiple disciplines
