Job Description : Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our Mortgage Loan team as a Loan Servicing Portfolio Associate!

About the role

In this position you will be supporting the commercial mortgage loan servicing team. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring collateral properties maintain compliant insurance coverage, monitoring for delinquent property taxes and FHLB pledging process support. In office requirement, Downtown Bellevue, 2 days a month for vault, shipping, and notary duties.

Our Commercial Mortgage Loans team is part of Symetra Investment Management (SIM) which was established in 2019 and is a subsidiary of Symetra who is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Life of Japan. SIM enables Sumitomo to invest in the U.S. markets and to expand in-house asset management capabilities. SIM is also an SEC-registered investment advisor providing third party investment management to institutional clients.

What you will do

Correspond with mortgage bankers and borrowers, providing and seeking information.
Assist with tracking and review for all required insurance coverage for each loan in the portfolio. Notify and assist MB in the event of non-compliant insurance coverage.
Using third party tracking system monitor and review real estate tax delinquencies for all collateral properties in the portfolio
Support Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) loan pledging process by collecting and reviewing required loan documentation, updating data files and preparing loan packages for shipping. Follow through on all FHLB requests.
Provide reports to Sr. Loan Servicer and manager.
Interpret commercial real estate documentation
Work with Excel manipulating data tables
Fields customer requests, researches and provides responses to address and bank account changes, authorizations for the release of information, 1098 inquiries and reporting, verification of mortgages, etc.
Participate on projects and other loan servicing functions under Supervisor’s direction.

Hourly Range: $24.32-40.55/hour plus eligibility for annual bonus program

Your experience and skills

2+ years commercial loan industry experience
Mortgage loan Insurance experience is strongly preferred
Commercial/multifamily lending or servicing experience, familiarity with loan documentation (e.g., promissory notes, deed/mortgage, leases. etc.)
Comfortable working within a fast-paced environment
Able to maintain a high level of accuracy within deadlines
Experience with FHLB and Taxes
Proficient Microsoft Word, Excel and Access skills
Strong organizational, analytical and writing skills
Ability to learn and execute quickly and efficiently
Accepts and adapts readily to changes, including changes in department and organization.
Proactive in resolution and follow through
Ability to work closely in team environment
