Position : Payroll and Benefits Administrator

Job Description : Summary

The Payroll and Benefits Administrator is responsible for accurate preparation, documentation, distribution, and reconciliation of bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls, and the administration of the payroll and benefits system. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of federal, city, state, and local legislation affecting payroll; understands and follows applicable provisions to ensure best practice operations.

Reports To: Accounting Team Lead

Status: Part-Time

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Administer & process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls; gather compensation, bonus and commission details for each pay period, input data into the pay grid and partner with accounting and HR to ensure accuracy of the payroll register.
Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are accurate and timely.
Process manual checks, manage garnishments, liens, benefits, taxes, Health Savings Accounts (HAS) & Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
Manage, maintain, troubleshoot Paycor time and attendance system, and hold managers accountable to timelines. Train new users on Paycor timecard and benefits management.
Maintain a high level of security and confidentiality of sensitive information.
Prepare and audit 940/941 & W-2 tax payments
Maintain and resolve payroll issues with Paycor related to systems, payroll, taxes, etc.
Prepare and generate weekly/monthly/annual management reports pertaining to employees, payroll, and benefits.
Synchronize employee contributions in our 401k system with contributions in the pay grid each pay period.
Research and resolve all employee payroll inquiries.
Provide outstanding payroll customer service support to all employees.
Assist in developing policy and procedures documentation for the Payroll Department.
Assist the Accounting Department with compliance reporting and annual audits.
Other duties as assigned.

Additional Qualifications/Requirements
Associates degree in accounting, business, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong knowledge of HRIS systems, Paycor preferred
Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices
Strong PC knowledge including proficiency in Excel
Good decision-making and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team environment
Ability to interact with SQ employees at all levels
Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to maintain a professional, respectful, and positive demeanor
Strong organization, oral, and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines
Ability to analyze data with particular attention to detail
Proven ability in customer service and problem resolution
