Job Description : POSITION DESCRIPTIONJob Title: Plant ManagerClassification: ExemptReports to: Senior Director of OperationsSummary/ObjectiveThe Plant Manager position directs and manages all aspects of manufacturing plant operations, with overall responsibilities for safety, quality, production, human resources, purchasing, maintenance, P&L management and other production-related duties.Essential FunctionsDirect and manage manufacturing plant operations for production, maintenance, quality shipping and receiving.Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner.Develop and control profits, plans and budget.Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.Manage capital asset maintenance.Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.Provide leadership within the plant and its employees through effective objective setting, delegation, communication and an overall hands on approach.Work with corporate managers on larger scale projects.Provide answers and accountability on corporate recruiting.Control and minimize labor overtime.Maintain existing plant facility and equipment; replace, or make adjustments to plant facility and equipment when necessary.Provide leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectives.Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs.Provide corporate management with creative and innovative ideas on ways to make the company better.Communicate with other plant managers on best practices sharing ideas throughout the organization.Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.Provide direction, development and leadership to production supervisors.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.CompetenciesProven track record of leadership in a progressive manufacturing management role.Ability to enforce company and plant rules consistently and in a uniform manner.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.Decision making.Customer Service mindset.Financial management.Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.Ability to learn and navigate company’s operating system.Strong problem solving/analysis skills.Cooperative and team oriented.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
