The Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (TJNAF) is a world-leading nuclear physics research center sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) with an annual operating budget in excess of $100M and 740 employees working on a 160 acre research campus in Newport News, Virginia.This non-supervisory Procurement Officer role is responsible for commercial supply procurement actions primarily under the simplified acquisition threshold within the Procurement Office at Jefferson Science Associates LLC (JSA), the Management and Operating contractor for TJNAF.Your Role Will: **Procure services, supplies, and equipment using simplified acquisition and/or purchasing procedures.Review purchase requisitions, determine solicitation list, and prepare requests for quotations.Ensure procurement actions are competitive to the maximum extent possible.Manage vendor inquiries and receive proposals.Evaluate quotations and award purchase orders up to limit of delegated authority.Be the designated back-up for data entry of procurement related informationAdminister purchase orders, including modifications, for actions within the simplified acquisition threshold.
