Pay: $21.70 / Hour, Medical, Dental, 401k match, pension, and vacation benefits
Shift: Day shift Monday – Friday 8 – 10 hours per day, shift times TBD
Sonoco Products hires new production employees into the entry level position (Production Worker) in a line of progression form there they can work their way into various other positions within the operation, where base rates exceed $30.00 per hour.
While reporting to the production supervisor, you will be responsible for but not limited to working safely, attention to quality, supporting the machine operators by packaging product, driving fork truck, recycling cores and paper scrap, training for and filling in for machine operators. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success.
Applicants will be required to complete the following:
A high school diploma, GED or equivalent are required
Complete an in-person interview
Drug screen
Reference and background check
The following experience and skills are desired:
You must be reliable, have good initiative, committed to working safely and quality focused
Experience working in an industrial / manufacturing environment
You can easily lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
You will need to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment
You will need to read and understand manufacturing instructions
You will need to perform repetitive duties, including standing for long periods of time
You will need to have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftmanship and attention to detail
Previous forklift experience is beneficial
