Job Description : MGM General Contracting is a Commercial General Contractor and construction workeragement firm. Our projects include everything from office/retail buildouts to ground-up construction. In return, MGM General Contracting, Inc. would like to invest in your professional growth and provide a great work-life balance.As a Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing all on-site construction processes and ensuring the timely and profitable completion of assigned projects in accordance with the contract documents.Role & Responsibilities A demonstrated ability to read, understand and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings.An ability to manage on-site assigned personnel and to provide them with a positive work environment, which includes growth and training.General knowledge of AIA Contract Documents.An ability to interact and function professionally with all parties that are associated with the project and to effectively communicate to all parties associated with the project.A working knowledge of material control and Company policies and procedures.A working knowledge of all construction trades including surveying and engineering procedures.A general knowledge of cost accounting systems and Company policies and procedures.The ability to maintain safety and cleanliness throughout the project.The timely, safe, and profitable completion of your assigned project.The timely review and approval of subcontractor requisitions and invoices, which are your responsibility.Direct supervision and evaluation of assigned Assistant Superintendents and Trainees, and maintenance of a positive working environment for the entire site team. You are to generate timely performance reviews of your assigned subordinates and ensure all assigned personnel are familiar with the Contract Documents.Reviewing and coordinating shop drawings, samples, and specification sheets under the direction of your Supervisor.Maintaining professionalism in all contacts.Ensuring that the safety program is enforced on the project site at all times.Attending required corporate meetings, training programs, seminars, and at least one “out of house” seminar per year.The timely notification to superior of all changes in the Contract, problems with the design, etc. to ensure compliance with the Contract Documents.Securing the timely distribution of needed utilities to the project in order to maintain the production schedule and the timely completion of rough-ins and model units (if applicable) to determine the standard of quality and mitigate potential problems.The timely generation of Site Logs, which are your responsibility.Performing additional duties as assigned.Maintaining a working set of as-built drawings on-site at all times.Produce the highest quality project that is built in accordance with the plans and specifications.Technical Skills & KnowledgeProficient in quantity take-offs.General understanding of current building construction systems means and methods.Generate Project Schedule on Ms. ProjectFamiliarity with current building codes.Familiarity with construction safety requirementsFamiliarity with construction contracts.Knowledge of AIA Contract documents, cost accounting, best practices, and project management law.Qualifications & Education Requirements Experience: 5-10 years of construction-related experience.Education: BS in Engineering, or Other Construction Related Degree.Computer Skills: Word, Excel, Project, Procore, Bluebeam, Outlook, Textura.Work Environment You will work in an indoor and outdoor environment. Additionally, you will be required to stand for long periods of time, stoop, bend, and lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 75lbs.As a Superintendent, you must maintain a positive, professional attitude and appearance as a representative of the company. You will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying an enthusiastic and motivated attitude.
